Social Standards

As a manufacturer of several thousand tons of muesli per year, we are in a good position to demand consistent social fairness worldwide.
Together with our market partners, we are constantly working on this.

As buyers of thousands of tons of raw materials on the global market, we have the strength to exert a lasting influence on how we treat people and nature. Together with our suppliers, customers, independent auditors, and local farmers, our goal is: to create appropriate working, safety and social conditions for everyone who works for us in the global supply chain.

Our standards are aligned to the SA 8000 and BSCI standards. SA 8000 was developed by Social Accountability International (SAI) and is based on international human rights conventions. The organisation was developed by Social Accountability International (SAI) and is based on international human rights conventions. The organisation BSCI Business Social Compliance Initiative is based in Brussels and represents a code of conduct developed by business enterprises to ensure compliance with ethical and social requirements along the entire supply chain.

In particular, BSCI* monitors the following elements:
  1. management practice
  2. no precarious employment
  3. working hours and remuneration
  4. child labour
  5. forced labour (including prison labour and coercive measures)
  6. freedom of assembly (including freedom of organisation and collective bargaining)
  7. discrimination (gender, race, religion)
  8. working conditions
  9. health and social services
  10. health and safety at work (occupational safety)
  11. aspects of environmental protection
  12. protection of young employees
